Berlin
Its a city like none other, with a big heart and soul.
the first time I came to Berlin last year, I could feel an automatic expansion.
its openess, the way it opens its door (and also broken its walls) to accept
the whole world is something that is reflected in very stone, every brick in Berlin.
World culture festival
when I first heard about it, it felt like a dream. Filling a whole football stadium with people and making them meditate….c'mon this is Europe!!! we get alcohol more easily than water here.
And so, meditation is just a far off airy fairy idea, which is way beyond their imagination.
And we are going to fill up a huge olympic football stadium!
And then last week I went to Berlin. Doing everything we can to fill that stadium and explaining to people in my atrocious broken German, why its such a 'big deal' when 70,000 people meditate together.
We danced in front of the Brandenburger Tor
We did suryanamaskars in the middle of Alexandeplatz
We sang in weird out of tune chorus ……
anything anything that would catch their attention and make them listen to what we had to say. The funny thing was that we had nothing to say. Only to convey that we are here to celebrate…and come join us in biggest celebration.
The the most blissful way to celebrating is to stimulate the soul through meditation…..the only hangover you get after this is a tremendous focus, ability to handle your emotions, inner strength and boundless enthusiasm.
But not everyone and everybody gets this. People have sorta closed themselves and bound themselves in concepts that are not helping either them or others around.
This festival and the city of Berlin I feel stands as a metaphor for human minds. The human mind needs to break its walls and grow up to accept the reality and align itself to what is natural. And finally get connected to the whole world. 90 percent of the world just eats, sleeps…..dies. Then what is it that distinguishes us from animals?
For me Berlin represents the coming of a new age in the world, where spirituality is not just a trend, but a pressing need of the hour, and the only solution to the biggest problems in the world today.
Its sounds crazy and also very cool. And I for one am so excited to be a part of this amazing revolution thats about to overtake the world. I can almost feel the shift in human consciousness waiting to happen in Europe….all radiating from Berlin.
So 2nd of July came. We sang, we danced, we meditated...in rain!
It felt like our souls were watered with love, joy, enthusiasm, and celebration that will be unforgettable for those who were part of it. Like Guruji said (also in the video below), "real celebration is when we celebrate and serve in spite of all adversity". And we got the experience of this by organizing the huge event in the rain! With all the colors of the rainbow (our theme song)
