Tender lovin care

The shop and restaurant windows are full of pink and red heart shaped balloons, the Brigade road it is swarming with couple holding hands.
On one hand we have Muthalik's army, Ram sena, crusading against a cause that is so a non-issue, and on the other hand we have these people (those against Ram sena) making an issue out a non-issue of a non-issue. The amount of debate that this has sparked off in Bangalore, is ridicules. I mean doesn't nation of 1.5 billion have better things to talk about. If couples want to hold hands, let them, and if Muthalik has made some retarded proclamations, let him. Seriously we have better things to worry about. Like:

1) Global warming- Apart from the fact that it has been reduced into a glamorous word in the vocabulary of beauty pageant contestants, It is a REAL PROBLEM. And oh we didn't do much, by being a Non Vegetarian, we only contribute towards 27% of global warming.

2) National Security- Right around the time last year when the media warped up the inconsequential 'Arushi murder case', India was invaded by China three times!

3)Naxalism-is the single biggest challenge that India faces in the next decade. The communist rule is weakening India internally by funding naxalites, and externally through maoist attacks from across the borders. In poor villages in India, especially the UP-north east belt, the naxalism is so rampant, that children of impoverished villages aspire to be naxalites in order to combat extreme poverty.

4)Politics- Our country is being run by a bunch of senile freaks, who still follow the legacy left by British- divide and rule in order to win vote banks. How can you blame them, the young educated population of India, is too busy to vote (myself included) but not to busy to complain.

5)Education system-Its about time we read 'real history' of India in our text-books, rather than suppressing our true history, where stuff like Jaliawala Bagh murder just gets a two line mention.

6) Terrorism- The basic intolerance for other religious and cultural ideologies, and this could include something as stupid as the Ram sena attacks. In the name of preservation of cultural heritage, gross violation of human rights and human values are being committed.

So its my sincere request for the youth of this nation to get into some action. Our country, our world, our environment is crying out for some love and affection. And if we focus our energies there instead of retarded (non)issues created by sensationalist media (I know I am a part of it),
This Blog has been inspired by Bawa's blog, on how, its out Nation that needs utmost TLC.
Here are some of the ways to get started

  1. Attend the YES!+ workshop (contact me for details)
  2. Register at http://www.jaagore.com/, to Vote
  3. Read up on real Indian history on Francios's website
  4. Become a vegetarian (no arguments, just do your research)

Now that's not a bad start, if you've checked the above on your to do list, its time to get others on the bandwagon. Else trust me, you'll be stuck behind a seedy screen your whole life, with your only significant contribution after reading this blog being increasing the traffic rate on google.

It's the time to say that we need to act, I am worried in Goa about the sea sides being spoiled because of local people and other Indians visiting beaches... No awareness for plastic and other non disposable things... THE IDEA IS JUST THROW IT WHERE EVER I CAN....

When I say Don't give me Plastic bags in shops or to people in Big G, They look amazed and give wired looks and I SMILE sarcastically...

When we had mission green earth walk here people were asking give us tree why should we spend 10rs to buy tree and stuff... ridiculous....

Makes ultimate sense. There are so many things in life worth living for , so many things for the media to report, why does not the media pen all that.

Media craved out Mutalik - from a malefactor to the protector of Indian culture, once again the sole dumb objective to sensationalize events/people driving them insane.

If any one in the media is out there : Please for heavens sake or whose'ever sake, report things that are worth reporting, events that can contribute to make this place better or rather protect it from getting worse. know that it is an easy game to point fingers at one entity but seriously the media must begin to exercise the powers vested in it to bring about change. And trust me, it is the media and only the media that can drive this long term painstaking but fruitful process of change.

If we need to see a tmrw where in our kids can see that world as we see it, we need to get our act tgther .. the 4 points jotted above are the best starting points one can ever think of .. and in case we fail to do it now, we will not be in a position to say - " Sab teek ho jayega ", because after some time the bad days would turn inevitable and lets act this time around and not THINK

Most of the youngsters have no importance towards what is actually happening around their own country. We live in a closed and selfish environment.

If I am satisfied, everything goes well is the present Indian attitude. But at the end of the day, it’s our generation and mankind which will be widely affected.

Global warming, Terrorism, Politics are no joke. They influence you, me and every other individual.

Just as an example, Indian economy tells us that almost 2 million dollars is spent in Indian marriages alone. If even half of this amount is spent for education, it would have not only reduced the global warming but would have given education to more than a million children. This kind of traditional socialism - the tribes have always provided needs to be changed.

Change starts from "YOU". So "UNLESS YOU CHANGE, YOU CANNOT EXPECT OTHERS TO CHANGE"...

I disagree with Praveen...

I think Change starts from "WE", so "UNLESS WE CHANGE, WE CANNOT EXPECT OTHERS TO CHANGE"....

Forget most of the youngster; at least those who value what is happening in around them and those who are utterly disagree with CHALTA HAI ATTITUDE can take initiative....

It's not an individual but its a group of youth, like US who can start Impacting society in positive way...

Bawa says "Be Like a Fire...; if something is wrong burn it and if some thing good is happening blow it and make it a big GOOD thing to happen..."

Right now from here we 5 including MAD can start making change...
'LETS STOP USING PLASTIC...'....

for people reading this post get yourself to do YES+ get others to do the YES+.
So once we are educated with values getting it VALUES my dear friends VALUES.
then we can handle these issues brought up easily.
"If we need a change then change yourself first, change your friend next, change your neighbourhood, change your district, change your state, change your country and finally we can bring a change to the world"

So if you are with me then START and join hands with us.

My two cents:
Chatisgarh is the epicenter for Naxalism. Northeast (baring Bengal) has no Naxalism, neither does UP... Salwa Judum to tackle it in Chatisgarh has had far more repercussions..

Naxalism was born out of oppression... its all about Land and you must visit these remote locations to realise the meaning of "poor" ...

India does not equate Naxalism to terrorism as it is a state subject...

Not all communists are skirt with Naxals... CPI and CPI(M) have different idealogies...

No child aspires to become a Naxal.. for his survival he has to ....

Its a social problem instead !

Just a vent !

Very well said, there are many better things to do then to just sit and rant.
But to some extent I do also believe that such protests are required, to let the ruling party know that this is not going to work. And he made just the remarks I would have not been bothered, but then beating up girls, I mean, really that is not acceptable. And it has happened more than once, latest being in Bangalore.

Yes but some people are making a joke out of it, instead of trying out some creative good solution.

This is a very interesting and thought provoking quote... but the link to "The real history of India" really takes a lot away from a very meaningful post. And yes become a vegetarian to help the country???? Stop writing for a national newspaper and maybe we can save a bunch of trees that way too.
